William C. Watters III, MD is a graduate of Harvard Medical School who received his board certification in orthopedic surgery while at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently practices in Houston, Texas, where he is on the clinical faculty of The Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Medical Branch. His activities at the North American Spine Society have included multiple committee and task force memberships, most notably being a founding member of the Evidence-based Guidelines Committee which he chaired from 2003-07 and a founding member and chair of the Registry Development Committee. He has been a Member of the Clinical Care Council and the Council Chair and Director of Research of the Research Council. He currently serves on the NASS Board of Directors as the First Vice President. Dr. Watters has been a NASS member since 1987.
