Advancing Spine Education to New Levels
The Spine Masters Institute (SMI) is the premier facility for spine education and research. It holds dynamic hands-on and didactic courses for all medical professionals, in addition to spine care specialists. SMI was developed by the North American Spine Society (NASS) and houses NASS’ headquarters.
The 40,000 sq. ft. facility is situated on 4.5 acres just south of downtown Chicago. It is close to both Midway Airport and O’Hare International Airport. There are two Marriott hotels less than a mile from the Spine Masters Institute, one of the hotels is adjacent to the facility.
Features:
- Bio-skills Lab – a 3,800 sq. ft. state-of-the-art space for hands-on sessions that holds 12 fully equipped work stations and 13 LCD monitors for viewing procedures performed at the head table.
- Auditorium – a classroom with all of the components needed for didactic presentations and tiered-seating for more than 100 participants.
- Function room – a space that can be used for lectures, meals or exhibits.
- Multimedia suite – a high-tech communications network of voice, video and data that enables courses to be recorded, archived, streamed and viewed live or on-demand.
SMI Board and Management Team:
The SMI Board and Management Team along with many volunteers work to generate donations and sponsorships. They are working with NASS members, medical organizations and industry leaders to acquire pledges, sponsorships and donations to raise the $12M necessary to fund the facility.
