SpinePAC

SpinePAC is the political action committee fund through which the Association supports federal legislative candidates who champion policies that benefit spine care patients and the professionals who treat them. SpinePAC is funded through contributions from individuals in the spine care field, specifically Association members, and serves as an important tool to further the Association’s advocacy agenda. SpinePAC raised more than $120,000 in 2009, the largest single year collection in its history and almost twice as much as collections in the last non-election year. This record fundraising effort allowed SpinePAC to contribute over $63,000 to candidates who support spine care providers and their patients. These contributions went to candidates for federal office—62% Democrat and 38% Republican— who are Congressional leaders and support sound health care policies; most served on committees with jurisdiction over health care issues, including physician reimbursement, quality improvement and medical liability reform.

The NASS Board of Directors and Advocacy Committee members encourage all members to contribute to SpinePAC. Members are asked to make a contribution of at least $250, although any amount will go a long way in advancing an agenda focused on providing fair reimbursement to our members so that they may continue to deliver the highest quality of care to the patients.

Help support the fight for patient access to cost-efficient, evidence-based spine care, contribute to SpinePAC today!

Contributions to SpinePAC are used for political purposes, contributions are voluntary, and you may choose whether and how much to give without concern of favor, disadvantage or reprisal by the National Association of Spine Specialists or SpinePAC. Contributions from corporate accounts cannot be used for direct support of candidates in office; corporate contributions received will be deposited into a separate account and will be used for administrative purposes. You may not be reimbursed for your contribution to SpinePAC. Contributions are not tax deductible for federal tax purposes. Federal law requires SpinePAC to make its best effort to report to the Federal Election Commission the name, address, occupation and name of employer for each individual whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year.
