The Health Policy Council oversees NASS’ coding, reimbursement and practice management activities.  It works closely with The Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) and private insurance companies to help develop coding, coverage and reimbursement policy for spine care.  It is also the primary liaison to the American Medical Association (AMA)’s Current Procedural Technology (CPT) Editorial Panel, Relative Value Update Committee (RUC), and other related bodies. The NASS Coding Committee publishes an annually updated Common Coding Scenarios book as a resource to members.
