It all begins with research… Spine care professionals know that every technique and procedure we employ to bring relief and healing to our patients is borne of research. As quality care transcends any one medical specialty, so does quality spine research. NASS’ multidisciplinary approach to uncovering the etiology, natural progression and most effective treatments for spinal disorders is unique in the field. NASS provides research funding, supports spine research with numerous resources and tools, and disseminates research through a peer-reviewed scientific journal and other publications. The NASS Research Council oversees the following volunteer committees and representatives who are responsible for developing NASS' research resources:

  • Nomenclature and Classification Systems Committee
  • Outcomes Compendium Task Force
  • Research Fund Management Committee
  • Research Planning Committee
  • Research Project Management Committee
  • Representatives to the Bone & Joint Decade
