The North American Spine Society is pleased to announce support for and membership in the American College of Sports Medicine’s  Exercise is Medicine™ campaign.  The Exercise is Medicine™ initiative is a shared vision of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), with support from the American Medical Association, to help improve the health and well-being of our nation through a regular physical activity prescription from physicians and other healthcare providers. The goal of the  Exercise is Medicine™ program is to encourage physicians, regardless of specialty, to record physical activity as a vital sign during patients visits.  The North American Spine Society looks forward to participating in future collaboration and promotion of the Exercise is MedicineTM project and encourages each NASS member to discuss with patients the role of exercise and physical activity as a potential treatment option and important component of a healthy lifestyle.
