The Spine Journal, the official journal of the North American Spine Society, is an international and multidisciplinary journal that publishes original, peer-reviewed articles on research and treatment related to the spine and high-quality, ethical, evidence-based spine care, including basic science and clinical investigations. The Spine Journal (TSJ) also publishes major reviews of specific topics, technical notes, editorials and special features.Letters to the Editor in Chief are encouraged.

Instructions for Authors
TSJ is one of the few journals accepted for indexing in Index Medicus/MEDLINE in its second year of publication -- a testimony to the unique contribution TSJ makes to the field of spine care and research. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts that have not been submitted or published elsewhere. Please refer to TSJ Instructions for Authors for complete details. NASS/TSJ Outstanding Paper Awards
Each year, NASS offers up to three awards of $10,000 for an outstanding paper in the following categories: Basic Science, Operative Care and Medical Rehabilitation & Interventional Care.

The 2008 Outstanding Paper Awards will be presented at the NASS 23rd Annual Meeting to be held in Toronto, Canada October 14-18, 2008.

Subscriptions
TSJ is published six times yearly and is provided as a benefit of membership to Active members of the North American Spine Society. (Discounted subscriptions are available to other categories of members; contact the NASS Membership Department for more information.) USA: $284 Institutional subscription/ $130 Personal subscription; Outside USA: $309 Institutional subscription/ $141 Personal subscription.

The Spine Journal Online
Full-length articles are available online free of charge to NASS Members and TSJ subscribers.

  • If you have already activated your online account, you can go directly here to access the Journal with the login and password you created. 

  • If you have not yet activated your online access, please go here and register as a New User. You will then be asked to create a login and password (different from your NASS login and password) for the Journal.

  • MEDLINE/PubMed Index. All TSJ abstracts are available on the National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health PubMed database. To retrieve any TSJ citation and abstract, use the title abbreviation “Spine J” in the search box on the following page. You will also be able to click through to full-text articles on the Journal site (login and password required).
