The North American Spine Society (NASS) is the premier multidisciplinary medical organization representing more than 7,000 members in 72 countries. NASS is dedicated to fostering the highest quality, evidence based and value-based, ethical spine care by promoting education, research, and advocacy.

Membership Types and Eligibility
 

Active
Active members are Board certified MDs, DOs, or PhDs residing in North America who devote 50% or more of their professional activities to spine care.

Associate members are Board eligible MDs, DOs, or PhD candidates residing in North America who devote 50% of their professional activities to spine care.

Affiliate
members include physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, chiropractors, physical therapists, researchers, practice managers, coders and other allied health care professionals who devote their activities to spine care.

Corresponding
Corresponding
members are health care professionals who are not residents of North America.  Canadian and Mexican physicians are also eligible for this category of membership.

In-training members are residents or fellows who are enrolled in a residency training program or subspecialty fellowship with an interest in the spine care.

Honorary

Honorary membership is bestowed by the Board of Directors to recognized leaders in the field of spine care.

Emeritus
Emeritus membership is for individuals who have been Active members for at least five years and have retired from the practice of medicine or have reached 65 years of age.
