This highly interactive course will help you conquer your coding challenges with strategies and solutions to navigate through the reimbursement process with confidence. The course will address CPT coding for spine surgical, medical, radiologic procedures as well as E&M coding.

You’ll Learn practical tips to ensure payment on initial submission, decreasing time spent on appeals and denials for both Medicare and private insurers, correct utilization of both 22000 and 63000 codes, operative report coding and documentation, correct use of modifiers, coding for telemedicine. Understand the new E&M coding and documentation guidelines, up-to-date information on healthcare legislation for pre-authorization, Medicare cuts, and other news that affect coding and reimbursement.

Upon completion of this course, participants should gain strategies to:

Comprehend the changes to Evaluation & Management for 2023 and how these changes will impact your practice;

Understand proper Telemedicine coding and its new evolving role in your practice;

Improve cash flow by reducing denials, resubmissions, and rejected claims;

Identify problems which cause denied/delayed claims and how to prevent these issues from occurring;

Correlate correct coding with practice reimbursement to ensure that every procedure receives the highest allowable level of reimbursement;

Recognize the relationship between proper diagnostic (ICD-10) and procedural coding (CPT) and how to link them to avoid denials;

Learn the elements required for complete and accurate documentation for E&M coding, and medical and surgical procedural notes;

Know the accurate use of modifiers, the relationship between modifiers and their impact on reimbursement;

Learn about important legislation that will affect your coding bottom line;

Feel comfortable coding your most complex surgical procedures;

Effectively and accurately code injection and neurologic testing procedures;

Incorporate the teachings of this course into your practice.

Audience

This course is for spine specialists, practice managers, and coders who have a basic understanding of ICD-10, CPT coding and the insurance billing process. Office staff and physicians are encouraged to attend the course together.

Our Policy

Meeting Cancellation: NASS reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or reformat (including to digital form) programs due to circumstances beyond its control or close registration when programs are oversubscribed. For these reasons, registrants are advised against purchasing non-refundable airline tickets. NASS is not responsible for penalties incurred as a result of cancelled transportation fares, hotel reservation policies or Visa rejection/refusals.

Attendee Cancellation: Cancellation must be submitted via email by March 10, 2023 to receive a full refund less cancellation processing fee of $50. No refunds after March 10; regardless of cause. Registrations are not transferable and there are no substitutions.

Health Guidelines: If health guidelines change in Louisiana, you will be required to adhere to all health guidelines accordingly. Guidelines may include, but not limited to, facial masks, social distancing, attestation to being fully vaccinated or will have a negative COVID-19 lab results within 72 hours of meeting arrival.

The North American Spine Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The North American Spine Society designates this enduring material for a maximum of

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the US, that participate in this CME activity, are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ .

This program meets AAPC guidelines for 15.0 CEUs. Can be split between Core A, CANPC, CASCC, CEMC, COSC, CPMA and CPCO for continuing education units.

Attendees seeking AAPC continuing education units should note that they will not be able to claim multiple NASS coding courses in one year due to an annual accreditation status.
