Spinal tumors such as plasma cell neoplasms and lymphoma are often evaluated using the Spinal Instability Neoplastic Score (SINS) to guide decisions regarding surgical stabilization. However, because these histologies are highly radiosensitive and may demonstrate radiographic improvement following radiation therapy, the applicability of standard SINS thresholds in this population remains uncertain.

This article examines the relationship between SINS classification and clinically meaningful outcomes, including spinal instability and vertebral compression fracture progression, in patients with plasma cell and lymphoma spinal lesions.
