This course is a combined International Spine Study Group (ISSG) and NASS Section on Spinal Deformity exploration of advances in innovative techniques and clinical applications of research findings that we believe will positively impact your clinical practice. The format will be a relaxed setting using a combination of didactic and hands on cadaver-based components to improve the attendee knowledge base of technical and ongoing research efforts to improve outcomes for adult spinal deformity (ASD) patients.

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants should gain strategies to:

Identify radiographic, demographic, physiological and frailty associated parameters most associated with disability, poor health related quality of life, and complication risk in adult spinal deformity.;

Use patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) and predictive analytic methods to evaluate and council ASD patients.;

Utilize new surgical planning techniques and patient specific implants to improve alignment and avoid complications in ASD.

Audience

In accordance with guidelines recommended by the CME Committee and adopted by the Board of Directors, physicians in the following specialties only may enroll in this course: Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiology, Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Neurosurgery.

Our Policy

Meeting Cancellation: NASS reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or reformat (including to digital form) programs due to circumstances beyond its control or close registration when programs are oversubscribed. For these reasons, registrants are advised against purchasing non-refundable airline tickets. NASS is not responsible for penalties incurred as a result of cancelled transportation fares, hotel reservation policies or Visa rejection/refusals.

Attendee Cancellation: Cancellation must be submitted via email by June 30, 2022 to receive a full refund less cancellation processing fee of $175. Registrations are not transferable and there are no substitutions.

Health Guidelines: If health guidelines change in Illinois, I will be required to adhere to all health guidelines accordingly. Guidelines may include, but not limited to, facial masks, social distancing, attestation to being fully vaccinated or will have a negative COVID-19 lab results within 72 hours of meeting arrival.

COVID-19 Assumption of Risk and Waiver: Attendee assumes all risks and accepts sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending the NASS 2022 Adult Spinal Deformity Meeting. Specifically relating to the global COVID-19 pandemic, attendee acknowledges the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of exposure or infection by attending the NASS 2022 Adult Spinal Deformity Meeting, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and/or death to attendee. Attendee understands that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the NASS 2022 Adult Spinal Deformity Meeting may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend the event or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact.
