Optimal treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures is extremely variable. Despite reliable classification systems, nonoperative versus operative and surgical approaches to these injuries are widely debated. This course describes classifications, factors that affect treatment, nonoperative principles and various surgical techniques to these injuries. Unique to this course is the incorporation of geriatric fracture care and fractures in pathologic bone. The faculty consists of spine traumatologists who are academic faculty dedicated to state of the art fracture care. Participants will learn through didactic lectures, case presentations and hands-on surgical techniques in the lab.
