The #1 way that new online applicants for NASS membership said that they learned about the Society was through colleague referral. You are the Society's greatest source for future growth and success. For that reason, NASS would like to reward you when you recruit new members to the Society.

How It Works

Step 1

Encourage your colleagues to join NASS using your personalized referral link found in your NASS MyAccount.

Step 2

When eligible individuals apply using this link, they will automatically get 20% off of their dues in their first year.

Step 3

Once they become a member, NASS will apply a 20% discount to your next year of membership, that means that if you refer 5 eligible colleagues, you’ll get a free year of membership!.

Program Rules & Regulations

  • Only NASS members in good standing can participate in this program as a referrer.
  • Program is not valid for new In-training memberships.
  • Program is not valid for renewals or reinstatements (the individual being referred must be a new member and complete the full application process). If an existing member creates a new membership through the program, the 20% discount will be voided and due from that member and the referring member will not receive credit for the referral.
  • 20% discount for new member is off of current membership rates (prorated quarterly) and discount is not applicable to $50 application fee.
  • 20% discount for the existing member is off of next year of unpaid membership dues; refunds will not be issued on prior payments or pending payments for current membership year (ex. If a new member is referred during the 2020 membership-year, 20% discount for the current member will be applied to 2021 dues, if not already paid).
  • There is no limit to the number of referrals that a member can earn.
  • Members must comply with all up-to-date “SPAM” laws. For example, emails related to the program must be created and distributed in a personal manner (bulk email distribution is prohibited). Any distribution of a referral link that could constitute unsolicited commercial email or “spam” under any applicable law or regulation is expressly prohibited and will be grounds for immediate disqualification from the program.
  • NASS asks that you do not post your referral link in any public space. If NASS identifies a referral link posted publicly, the link will be invalidated and a new link will be added to the member’s contact. More than one public post may disqualify a member from participating in the program.
  • Program is valid on paid memberships and the individual applying for membership must complete the full application process (apply online, send their CV, pay applicable dues and be accepted to membership by NASS) to be eligible.
  • To receive credit for a referral, the individual applying for membership must use the personalized referral link for the referring member; if this link is not used, no credit will be received. Referral links will not be added to existing applications; in the event that an individual with an existing application applies using a member’s referral link, the 20% discount will be voided and due from that member and the referring member will not receive credit for the referral.
  • If an individual referred to the program is not elected to membership, no credit will be received.
  • If a member who has referred a colleague resigns their membership prior to receiving their discount, no cash equivalent will be issued.
  • Referral awards are non-transferrable and cannot be applied to other items (meeting registration fees, products, etc).
  • As Referrers, members are responsible for any and all tax liability resulting from referral rewards received as part of the program.
  • NASS reserves the right to cancel the program or to change the terms, rules and/or rewards of the program at any time and in its sole discretion.

    No! If you’re a current member in good standing, for every eligible new member you refer, you will receive an additional 20% off of your dues (so after 5 referrals, you’ll get a free year of membership, and after 10 referrals, you’ll get two free years!).

    Once a new applicant completes the full membership application process (applies online, provides their CV, and pays their dues), you will receive an email notifying you that a 20% discount is pending for your referral. Then once their membership is officially accepted, the discount will be applied to your future membership fees.

    Yes, but the new members that you refer cannot be In-training. If you participate as an In-training member, your 20% discount will be applied to the first year of dues that you pay post-training.

    The NASS 20/20 Program is good for new memberships only. Renewals and reinstatements are not eligible. If a new membership is created using a colleague’s link and a duplicate membership record is found, the discount for the referring member will not be issued and the duplicate memberships will be merged with a balance due.
