Committees, Sections and Task Forces

Participation in a NASS committee, section or task force is an excellent way to build your CV, increase leadership skills and distinguish yourself from colleagues. Less than 25% of committee applicants are appointed each year, illustrating the prestige of being appointed.

Attending & Speaking at Meetings

Members receive valuable experience through attendance at NASS meetings and events. Additionally, if there is a topic that you'd like to see on an upcoming program, or if you have research to present, you can submit an abstract or course proposal to be considered for inclusion in an upcoming conference or for development as future stand-alone education.

SpineConnect & FellowshipConnect

SpineConnect is an online forum where members can present cases for discussion and recommendation by colleagues from around the world. And FellowshipConnect is a user-driven resource that matches members worldwide who wish to travel to or host an observational fellowship.

Other Ways Participate through NASS

• TSJ Submission and Peer Review: Members are encouraged to contribute to The Spine Journal (TSJ) through article submission or by becoming a TSJ peer reviewer
• Member Feedback Committee: This committee was developed to obtain substantive information from members to aid in the development of programming, benefits and initiatives for the Society
• Funding Support: NASS membership dues support many of the important initiatives that the Society undertakes on behalf of members. Members are encouraged to further support these initiatives through donation to the SpinePAC or Annual Research Fund
