NASS Presents at SpineWeek 2023

After being cancelled in 2020, SpineWeek returned stronger and better than ever in 2023. This remarkable event took place from May 1-5, 2023, in Melbourne, Australia. NASS was honored to be one of the partner societies for SpineWeek 2023.
Finkenberg
NASS’ participation included three symposia on “Spine Controversy Updates,” “Cervical Myelopathy” and “Procedural Management of Low Back Pain” chaired and moderated by NASS President, John G. Finkenberg, MD, Zoher Ghogawala, MD, FACS and Charles A. Reitman, MD. Additionally, NASS participated in six Paper Presentations throughout the week. NASS symposia and paper presentations were well attended, and great discussions followed each session.

The attendees had the opportunity to participate and get their questions answered by NASS faculty, which in addition to the chairs, included Ed J. Dohring, MD, David R. O’Brien, MD, Eeric Truumees, MD, Richard Vogel, DABNM, PhD, Richard D. Guyer, MD, Scott L. Blumenthal, MD, Kathryn M. Jurenovich, DO, Vijay G. Goni, MB, MD, PhD, and many more.
NASS Booth
NASS was also present with a booth at the event and had the opportunity to engage with members from all over the world. Many attendees stopped by the NASS booth to renew their membership and learn about additional NASS resources and upcoming NASS events, such as the NASS International Annual Meeting: Bangkok, which will take place on July 19-21, 2023, in Bangkok, Thailand or the 38th NASS Annual Meeting taking place in Los Angeles, California on October 18-21, 2023.
In addition to the learning opportunities, the SpineWeek committee made available many social and cultural activities, where the attendees had the opportunity to make new connections and reconnect with friends and colleagues. Furthermore, the attendees were delightfully surprised during the Welcome Reception with an interactive educational wildlife encounter with native Australian animals.
