NASS Members Come Together in Washington, DC, and New York to Support SpinePAC

On June 9, NASS Advocacy Council Chair Phil Schneider, MD, and NASS First Vice President John Finkenberg, MD hosted a fundraising reception in Washington, DC, in support of SpinePAC. Fifteen NASS members, including 11 co-hosts, were able to come together to spend time with their colleagues and express their support for SpinePAC’s mission. Thanks to the generosity of our co-hosts and attendees, this fundraising reception raised $15,195 for SpinePAC.

All attendees had the opportunity to hear from our special guest speaker – Rep. Kim Schrier, MD, (D-WA). As a pediatrician in Congress, Dr. Schrier was able to provide unique insight into the current state of health care policy on Capitol Hill and how physicians can step up to make a difference. SpinePAC is proud to support members of Congress like Dr. Schrier who are fighting for doctors and their patients.

Similarly, on June 23, SpinePAC Advisory Committee Vice Chair Jeffrey Epstein, MD, hosted a fundraising reception in New York in support of SpinePAC. Fifteen others were in attendance and raised a total of $9,750 for SpinePAC. NASS Executive Director Eric Muehlbauer led the proceedings and provided guests with perspective on NASS’s effective advocacy efforts and why their support is so important.

Events such as these give NASS members the opportunity to gather and discuss the important political issues affecting spine specialists. They also help raise funds for the only political action committee focused on supporting spine specialists and their patients. SpinePAC is our industry’s voice in Washington and is a critical part of NASS’s mission to educate and support members of Congress who understand the important issues our members face on a daily basis.
