NASS Committee Update: Ethics & Professionalism Work on Issue of Physician Advertising

Recently, the NASS Committee on Ethics & Professionalism worked with the Member Feedback Committee on the issue of physician-member advertising and determined this is a topic of interest to members. The Committee is now working to draft an aspirational document to provide guidance on this topic. Future projects related to the issue may include an attorney speaking at the 2021 Annual Meeting and a SpineLine article.

About the Committee: The Committee on Ethics & Professionalism develops, revises and maintains NASS policies, rules and regulations in the areas of disclosure, ethics, and professionalism. The Committee also stimulates information, papers and education for members on these topics. Committee details include:

  • Estimated Time Requirements: Participation in conference calls (2-4/yr); discussions over email; attendance at committee meeting during NASS Annual Meeting
  • Current Term Accepting Applications: 2021-2024
  • Estimated Vacancies: 1-2
