Patients across the globe are reading about Endoscopy and are increasingly asking for Endoscopic Spine Surgery. This quite naturally is driving considerable interest from surgeons to learn how to treat an increasing range of indications endoscopically.
As part of NASS’s commitment to Advancing Global Spine Care, we are developing a blended-learning Continuing Professional Development (CPD) curriculum to support our surgeons’ acquiring the complete set of competencies so as to achieve the best patient outcomes for their Endoscopic surgery.
We intend to launch structured life-long learning experiences that combine eLearning (knowledge) and physical courses (clinical reasoning and practical skills). Our aim is to create a true paradigm shift in the way surgeons can learn Endoscopic Spine Surgery.
With this new CPD curriculum, surgeons will be able to choose their own learning pathway accessing training and relevant assessment at their own pace to achieve their desired performance to drive the best outcomes.
This first NASS CPD Endoscopic program has been designed by world experts in Endoscopic spine surgery covering three increasingly common uniportal procedures:
- Interlaminar Lumbar Discectomy
- Interlaminar Lumbar Decompression
- Lumbar Transforaminal
Before coming to our physical courses, learners will first engage in our eLearning modules covering – Patient Selection, OR Setup, Inter-Operative Imaging, Surgical Steps and Post-Op Care. This ensures everyone attending courses are at the same level of knowledge.
