Attendees at NASS 2023 in Los Angeles can look forward to hearing a wide range of presentations covering the latest cutting-edge research at this year’s annual meeting. A record number 1,686 abstract submissions were received by the February 6 deadline, the highest in NASS history. These include 959 operative and 727 nonoperative abstract submissions. The surgical, medical and multidisciplinary content will provide attendees a broader perspective across specialties.

NASS President John Finkenberg, MD, commenting on the record number said, “The NASS Annual Meeting Program Committee was excited to see a record number of Abstracts and Symposiums submitted for consideration at our 2023 Annual Meeting. Our response to this enthusiastic submission will be to increase our number of in-person presenters which will allow this meeting to return to its rightful position as the Premier Professional Spine Society meeting in the world. We are partnering with industry to make this event the “Super Bowl of Spine Experts.”
At NASS 2023, attendees will be able to experience podium presentations, symposia and electronic posters addressing research, issues and trends in spine. Special sessions will also be held on Friday and Saturday designed for early career spine professionals. Attendees can get hands-on with the latest technology at the world’s largest spine exhibition. Returning this year will be leading spine surgeons demonstrating the latest techniques at the Surgical Stadium. A Coding Update course will take place prior to the meeting on Monday and Tuesday, and a Lumbar Spinal Injections Course will be held on Friday.
