NASS International (NASSi) was honored to present at this year’s XXII AMCICO Congress held September 14-17, 2022 at the Hotel XCaret Arte in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

NASSi’s participation included a half-day symposium on “Challenges in the Management of the Aging Spine” chaired and moderated by Norman B. Chutkan, MD, FACS. Presenters included: Drs. Sergio Soriano Solis (México), Jean-Jacques Abitbol (USA), Patrick C. Hsieh (USA), Norman B. Chutkan (USA), Virgilio Ortiz Garcia (México), Jose Luis Alcocer Manrique (México) and Alfonso Vega Sosa (México).

The symposium was well attended and afterwards, NASSi and AMCICO leadership were finally able to meet in-person to sign the Strategic Partnership Agreement and discuss ongoing opportunities for the societies.

NASSi enjoyed talking with members and showcasing NASSi’s membership and continuing professional development opportunities.
AMCICO’s Annual Congress
The AMCICO congress occurred over the Mexican Independence holiday which brought a festive atmosphere to this amazing event. AMCICO’s fest night included the celebrated chefs from 32 regions of Mexico, with samplings of their local favorite dishes and drinks. Live entertainment included mariachi bands, interactive games and fun photo opportunities.

NASSi was thrilled to welcome members of the Mexican Spine Society last week at the NASS Annual Meeting in Chicago. NASSi and AMCICO participated in a joint symposium on thoracolumbar trauma, chaired by Charles A. Reitman, MD, International Education Chairperson, and Baron Zarate Kalfopulos, MD, AMCICO Past President.
