The online application site for the Spine Surgery Fellowship Match is now open for the 2020-2021 fellowship cycle (fellowships to begin in August 2022). Trainees interested in participating in a fellowship through this program are encouraged to review the instructions and fellowship directory at this link

Applicants must be eligible for Board Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery or Neurosurgery. Certain programs only accept applications from physicians eligible for United States or Canadian Board Certification; please check each individual program description to determine if the program accepts applications from individuals eligible for Certification in your country.
Documents required to apply include:
- Completed CAS application form (online submission);
- USMLE Step 1/COMPLEX 1 or equivalent;
- Letter of Good Standing;
- Three Letters of Reference;
- Distribution list.
The Spine Surgery Fellowship Match was established in 2008. Its goal is to coordinate fellowship appointments, thus relieving the pressure of uncoordinated appointments and forced early choices. The participating programs will not make any appointments until the match is complete in April 2021.
