Spring Into Action With NASS Advocacy

Today in Washington DC, 30 advocates, including members of NASS’ Board, Advocacy, Health Policy and Research Council, will meet on Capitol Hill with several members of Congress including the Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, Michael C. Burgess, MD (R-TX), the Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Richie Neal (D-MA) and Senators Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA) and John Barrasso, MD (R-WY).

Attendees will advocate for reducing excessive administrative burdens and unnecessary prior-authorization requirements and repealing the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). Even If you can't join us, you can still tell Congress what matters to spine care specialists by participating in NASS’ Virtual Advocacy Day.

Here's what you can do:
1. Send an action alert via our Legislative Action Center. Encourage your colleagues, friends and neighbors to participate.
2. Make a donation to NASS’ political action committee, SpinePAC, to help support spine care champions in Congress.
3. Share and like the posts on NASS’ social media like Facebook and Twitter. Follow @NASSspine for live updates about what legislators are saying as we meet with them on Capitol Hill

I’m honored to be your voice on Capitol Hill for the betterment of our profession and patients. If you have a minute, please take action on one or all of the items above to add your voice to the cause.

John Finkenberg, MD
NASS Advocacy Council Director
