The North American Spine Society will sponsor one applicant to participate in the 2016 AAOS/OREF/ORS Clinician Scholar Career Development Program (CSCDP) and is seeking applicants.
As a means of promoting development of clinician scholars, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons partners with the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) and the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) to offer a Clinician Scholar Career Development Program. The CSCDP is an annual 1.5 day workshop designed to support and educate young orthopaedists interested in pursuing careers as clinician scholars. The workshop sessions focus on topics such as the career timeline, collaboration with scientists, mentorship, academic promotion, grants and funding resources, working with specialty groups, and balancing it all with a fulfilling personal life. The 14th annual CSCDP will occur September 15-17, 2016, at the Rosemont Hyatt in Rosemont, Illinois. The program is open to applicants in PGY2‐PGY 5, in fellowships, and Junior Faculty through year three.
The participant sponsorship will cover two (2) nights at the Rosemont Hyatt Hotel, roundtrip airfare, program materials, Thursday evening dinner, Friday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Saturday breakfast and lunch.
Those interested in applying should send a letter of interest indicating whether they are PGY2‐PGY 5, in fellowships, or junior faculty through year three, along with a curriculum vitae via email by close of business March 14
