NASS is proud to release the
Patient Safety Position Statement on Education, Training, and Competency for Spine Interventions.
As advances in minimally invasive spinal interventions and other emerging technologies continue to expand the spectrum of procedures available to patients, NASS felt it was important to address the education, training, and competency necessary to perform these interventions safely.
This statement was developed through an extensive multidisciplinary process that included a review of current training pathways and discussions with leadership from both surgical and nonsurgical spine societies. The goal was to establish clear, competency-based principles for the safe performance of contemporary spine interventions.
