A NASS member recently moved one step closer to becoming a US Congressman. Earlier this month, Dr. John Cowan won the Republican primary for the 11th Congressional District of Georgia.
On June 11, NASS’ advocacy committee held a town hall Zoom meeting for advocacy committee members and members in Georgia to meet Dr. Cowan, a neurosurgeon and 16-year NASS member.

Dr. Cowan has a good chance of being the next US Congressman from the 11th district, but he needs support from the spine community. NASS supported his candidacy with a $3,500 SpinePAC donation.

Dr. Cowan will face off against Democratic candidate and defense attorney Chris Harden in November. The winner will replace retiring Republican U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk.
