Research Grants: Letters of Proposal due Feb. 10th
NASS offers grant funding for promising spine research projects spanning 1-2 years. These opportunities are available for investigators at any stage of their profession:
- Graduate Students with mentor support from an established researcher

- Young Investigators, either enrolled in post-doctoral training or completed training within past 5-years
- Established Investigators with terminal degrees and research experience
Research priorities for grants may include: Basic, Clinical, Translational or Nontraditional, Nonsurgical Treatment. Review defined priorities

Funding amount and number of grants awarded are at the discretion of the NASS Research Funding Committee based upon merit of applications and amount of funding available each year. It is recommended that approved grant budgets range between $20,000-$40,000 per year. In rare cases and at the discretion of the committee, each year may be up to $50,000 per year.
Traveling Fellowships: Applications due May 12th
Fund travel and accommodations to study, train or participate in a research project other than where currently practicing.
- Clinical Traveling Fellowship: study and train at 3-5 different medical centers other than where currently practicing.
- Research Traveling Fellowship: participate in a research project for at least 5 months at a different medical center than where currently practicing.
