Shawn Collins, a highly respected attorney and longtime NASS legal counsel has died at age 67. Collins is highly regarded in the spine community for his role as lead attorney in the pedicle screw lawsuits of the 1990s that resulted in legal rulings in favor of NASS, other societies and stakeholders. Collins founded the Collins Law Firm in 1992 in Naperville, Illinois, and was lead attorney in the successful litigation of numerous high-profile, high-stakes cases during his career resulting in him being named as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The American Trial Lawyers Association from 2005 through 2022.

Collins is survived by his wife Meg, daughters Cat(Tom), Cassidy and Darcy, as well as his mother Rosemarie (Jack, deceased) and siblings Mary(Brian), Kathleen (John), Bridget (Hal), Monica (David, deceased), Patrick (Helena) and Thomas(Kelly). Funeral services will be private.
