Annual Research Fund
The Annual Research Fund (ARF) provides funding for research grants and fellowships selected each year by the NASS Research Funding Committee. NASS supports basic, clinical and translational science performed with integrity. Since 1989, NASS has funded more than $4.4 million in spine-related research projects. NASS dedicates 100% of ARF dollars directly to funding research. Annual Research Fund contributions are tax-deductible. By contributing to the Annual Research Fund you will ensure that grants are awarded to the increasing number of researchers with promising ideas that could impact the future of spine care.

Spine Research Endowment Fund
To ensure future funding, the Spine Research Endowment Fund (SREF) was established in 1996. As an endowment, the principal remains untouched. Once the fund reaches $2 million, the interest income accrued each year on the principal will supplement the amount through the Annual Research fund, potentially doubling the average amount that NASS distributes each year.
Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation
Contributions may also be made through the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF). Spine care professionals who contribute through OREF can designate a portion of their gifts to NASS. OREF Donors are Partners in Spine. This cooperative effort affords NASS members two benefits: (1) the convenience of supporting two outstanding research funding organizations, and (2) the public recognition from both NASS and OREF.

Your completely tax deductible donation to the ARF and SREF will allow us to continue to fund the vital research that is necessary to further our understanding of spinal disorders. There is a critical need for unbiased, independent research and NASS is dedicated to funding these worthwhile grants but needs your help!
Please consider giving to the Annual Research Fund today to support NASS’ research grants and traveling fellowships. Your total donation will go to research. NASS dedicates 100% of Annual Research Fund dollars collected directly to funding research projects.
